Cooking Workshop:

Organic Swiss Chard, Kale, and Cheese Tamales -December 14, 2023

Learn to make Eat Less Water Vegetarian and Vegan Tamales from Scratch with Author Florencia Ramirez. Includes, tamale dinner at the beginning of the class, cooking instruction, and a dozen tamales to take home for your holiday table.

During a 2.5-hour cooking class you will learn how to:  

  • prepare the corn husk
  • make masa from scratch
  • prepare the filling, and techniques to spread masa
  • You will take a dozen tamales to steam at home.  


The cooking class will be held in my home kitchen in Oxnard.  

A pop-up holiday shop Eat Less Water book will be available for purchase. 

Class, dinner, and tamale cost: 

  • $80.00 for one adult
  • $45.00 for one child 14 or under
  • Make an additional dozen (for a total of 24 tamales) for only $15.00 more 
  • SPACE IS LIMITED

Gather your friends and family members for a private Tamaladas (a group of tamale-makers) in the kitchen of your choosing. The private cooking class includes:

  •  an all organic-plant-based tamale dinner for all your guests at the start of the class
  • a cooking demonstration
  • ingredients to make and take a dozen tamales per guest to steam at home
